Spread the love

Have you ever wanted to take a break because you are overworked, drained, or haven’t had time to accomplish the goals you set out for yourself for the New Year?

Trust me, I’ve been there.

But, how exactly do you know when it is time to take a break?  In this blog post you learn 3 simple indicators and some steps you can take to regain control.

Solution to being exhausted

Your approach

Watch out for how you react to certain situations.  When you are exhausted you might get agitated, frustrated, and resent doing anything.

If you feel your mood shift for the worse, it’s time to take a break.

Take a moment to regroup.

Come back to the task at hand when you have time to take a moment for yourself.

Appearance

I’m not talking about the clothes you wear.  It has to do more with how you overall feel.

For example, if you see that there are dark circles forming under your eyes.  It is a major sign that you aren’t getting enough rest.

Another is if you notice you are breaking out more than usual.  This may be because of stress.  When you are stressed out, you can become overwhelmed, which can lead to exhaustion.

Take care of your overall well-being internally and externally.

Give more to others

The instant you feel that you don’t have time for yourself in regard to taking steps to your goals, resting, and anything in between it is time to reflect.

After you set aside time to reflect on what you want, it’s time to change and to adapt to the new mindset of putting yourself first.

You should be the number one priority in your life.

Ask yourself:

What do you need?

What do you want?

Is there something I haven’t done that I would like to accomplish?

Solution to being exhausted

What can you do if you become exhausted?

There are a ton of things you can do, but that doesn’t mean you have to do them all.  The goal is to not become overly exhausted by thinking it’s another task you have to do.

Here are some things you can do:

Take breaks in between tasks.

Reward yourself at your favorite restaurant.

Make plans outside of work.

By forming habits that allow you to take a break, it gives you control.  When you are in control, you allow yourself to have a balanced lifestyle.
