Spread the love

Incorporating a reset day into your regular weekly routine does wonders.  It allows you to regroup, recharge, and shift your view for the upcoming week.

Over time, you’ll realize it’s not about the task. It’s the feeling you have when the task is done or have time for yourself.

In this post you’ll learn how you can make the most of a reset day without overwhelming yourself.

Write it out

The first thing you are going to do is write out what has to be done.   This allows you to see what’s been on your mind.

Furthermore, you’ll realize how much of a burden it has been since not being able to fulfill that task or have time for yourself.

Preparation leads to Results

Create a flexible schedule for when you want to fulfill what you have written down.  Arrange it of importance.

What will happen if you don’t complete one of the things on your to-do list?

How would you feel if it didn’t get done?

If you don’t, what will happen?

Be honest with yourself.

Instead of planning out the entire year.  Do it by quarters.  It will allow you to get things done in a timely manner, and then you can move on to the next thing on your list.

Swap out your routine

Instead of setting a schedule to do a weekly task like cleaning, switch it up.  Give yourself a day when you do absolutely nothing, plan a getaway, do a fun activity with your peers, etc.…

It doesn’t matter as long as you set aside time for yourself.

You deserve a break.

A few activities you can do are:

Self-care day: Take a hot bath or shower.  Exercise (Meditate, Stretch, yoga, Pilates, etc.) Schedule a nap.

Embracing your creative side: Plan an activity in which it allows you to have fun and brings enjoyment. For example, taking a cooking class, reading, playing an instrument, writing poetry, and more.

Fun activities: Go to an indoor trampoline park, go-kart riding, play pickleball, or go Latin dancing.

There are a ton of things you can do, but allow this activity to be a stepping stone for you to not feel guilty for placing yourself as a priority.

Disconnect from the digital world

Break free from the constant scrolling on your screens. Create healthy boundaries when it comes to the usage of your phone, computer, or tablet.  This is your chance to reconnect with yourself.  Discover who you are as an individual.

Overview of a Reset Day

A reset day is like a new awakening.  It’s a day when you complete things you’ve been holding off, take time for yourself, prioritize what’s important, set boundaries, and so much more.

Reflect on where you are at and allow yourself to be proud.

Often, times you can get caught up with where you aren’t at, instead of appreciating how far you’ve come and enjoying the present.

Let your reset day be your reminder that you accomplish more when you focus on the present.

A balanced lifestyle allows inner peace and prevents burnout.

It’s your time.

How do you feel about reset days?  What are some of the things you did on your reset day?
